In 1901, the Commonwealth of Australia was proclaimed.
In 1942, Japanese air attacks began on Singapore.
In 1943, the Japanese high command decided to abandoned Guadacanal, and with it, control of the Solomons, but not without bleeding Allied troops as much as possible. Their southern expansion had failed.
In 1962, Western Samoa became independent.
In 1967, Operation Sam Houston began by 4th and 25th Divisions along Laos border.
In 1969, Operation Rice Farmer began by 9th Division in Mekong.
In 1979, the United States and China held celebrations in Washington and Beijing to mark the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
